Beautified for those who disbelieve is the life of this world, and they ridicule those who believe. But those who fear Allāhare above them on the Day of Resurrection. And Allāh gives provision to whom He wills without account.
Those who disbelieve in the signs of Allāhand kill the prophets without right and kill those who order justice from among the people – give them tidings of a painful punishment.
They are the ones whose deeds have become worthless in this world and the Hereafter, and for them there will be no helpers.
Do you not consider, [O Muúammad], those who were given a portion of the Scripture? They are invited to the Scripture of Allāh that it should arbitrate between them; then a party of them turns away, and they are refusing.
That is because they say, “Never will the Fire touch us except for [a few] numbered days,” and [because] they were deluded in their religion by what they were inventing.
So how will it be when We assemble them for a Day about which there is no doubt? And each soul will be compensated [in full for] what it earned, and they will not be wronged.
Indeed, those who disbelieve and die while they are disbelievers – never would the [whole] capacity of the earth in gold be accepted from one of them if he would [seek to] ransom himself with it. For those there will be a painful punishment, and they will have no helpers.
And the companions of the Fire will call to the companions of Paradise, “Pour upon us some water or from whatever Allāhhas provided you.” They will say, “Indeed, Allāh has forbidden them both to the disbelievers.”
Who took their religion as distraction and amusement and whom the worldly life deluded.” So today We will forget them just as they forgot the meeting of this Day of theirs and for having rejected Our verses.
Allāh, to whom belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And woe to the disbelievers from a severe punishment
The ones who prefer the worldly life over the Hereafter and avert [people] from the way of Allāh, seeking to make it (seem) deviant. Those are in extreme error.
Those before them had already plotted, but Allāhcame at their building from the foundations, so the roof fell upon them from above them, and the punishment came to them from where they did not perceive.
Then on the Day of Resurrection He will disgrace them and say, “Where are My ‘partners’ for whom you used to oppose [the believers]?” Those who were given knowledge will say, “Indeed disgrace, this Day, and evil are upon the disbelievers” –
The ones whom the angels take in death [while] wronging themselves, and [who] then offer submission, [saying], “We were not doing any evil.” But, yes! Indeed, Allāh is Knowing of what you used to do.
So enter the gates of Hell to abide eternally therein, and how wretched is the residence of the arrogant.
Those who disbelieved and averted [others] from the way of Allāh– We will increase them in punishment over [their] punishment for what corruption they were causing.
And [mention] the Day when We will resurrect among every nation a witness over them from themselves. And We will bring you, [O Muúammad], as a witness over your nation. And We have sent down to you the Book as clarification for all things and as guidance and mercy and good tidings for the Muslims.
Whoever disbelieves in Allāhafter his belief… except for one who is forced [to renounce his religion] while his heart is secure in faith. But those who [willingly] open their breasts to disbelief, upon them is wrath from Allāh, and for them is a great punishment;
That is because they preferred the worldly life over the Hereafter and that Allāh does not guide the disbelieving people.
Those are the ones over whose hearts and hearing and vision Allāh has sealed, and it is those who are the heedless.
Assuredly, it is they, in the Hereafter, who will be the losers.
Then, indeed your Lord, to those who emigrated after they had been compelled [to renounce their religion] and thereafter fought [for the cause of Allāh] and were patient – indeed, your Lord, after that, is Forgiving and Merciful.
And whoever Allāhguides – he is the [rightly] guided; and whoever He sends astray – you will never find for them protectors besides Him, and We will gather them on the Day of Resurrection [fallen] on their faces – blind, dumb and deaf. Their refuge is Hell; every time it subsides We increase them in blazing fire.
That is their recompense because they disbelieved in Our verses and said, “When we are bones and crumbled particles, will we [truly] be resurrected [in] a new creation?”
Do they not see that Allāh, who created the heavens and earth, is [the one] Able to create the likes of them? And He has appointed for them a term, about which there is no doubt. But the wrongdoers refuse [anything] except disbelief.
And whoever submits his face to Allāhwhile he is a doer of good – then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold. And to Allāh will be the outcome of [all] matters.
And whoever has disbelieved – let not his disbelief grieve you. To Us is their return, and We will inform them of what they did. Indeed, Allāh is Knowing of that within the breasts.
We grant them enjoyment for a little; then We will force them to a massive punishment.
As for those who disbelieve, for them is the Fire of Hell, wherein they will never be finished off and die, nor will its punishment be lightened for them. Thus We will repay every ingrate.
And they will scream therein, “Our Lord, let us out, and we will act righteously, differently from the way we used to act.” Did We not give you a life long enough, in which anyone who wanted to understand would have understood? And the warner did come to you. So taste. The evildoers will have no helper.
God is the Knower of the future of the heavens and the earth. He knows what the hearts contain.
It is He who made you successors on earth. Whoever disbelieves, his disbelief will recoil upon him. The disbelief of the disbelievers adds only to their Lord’s disfavor of them. The disbelief of the disbelievers adds only to their perdition.
No one disputes concerning the signs of Allāh except those who disbelieve, so be not deceived by their [uninhibited] movement throughout the land.
The people of Noah denied before them and the [disbelieving] factions after them, and every nation intended [a plot] for their messenger to seize him, and they disputed by [using] falsehood to [attempt to] invalidate thereby the truth. So I seized them, and how [terrible] was My penalty.
And thus has the word of your Lord come into effect upon those who disbelieved that they are companions of the Fire.
But We will surely cause those who disbelieve to taste a severe punishment, and We will surely recompense them for the worst of what they had been doing.
That is the recompense of the enemies of Allāh– the Fire. For them therein is the home of eternity as recompense for what they, of Our verses, were rejecting.
And those who disbelieved will [then] say, “Our Lord, show us those who misled us of the jinn and men [so] we may put them under our feet that they will be among the lowest.”
Who hears the verses of Allāh recited to him, then persists arrogantly as if he had not heard them. So give him tidings of a painful punishment.
And when he knows anything of Our verses, he takes them in ridicule. Those will have a humiliating punishment.
Before them is Hell, and what they had earned will not avail them at all nor what they had taken besides Allāh as allies. And they will have a great punishment.
This [Qur’ān] is guidance. And those who have disbelieved in the verses of their Lord will have a painful punishment of foul nature.
Those who disbelieve, and hinder from the path of God, and oppose the Messenger after guidance has become clear to them—they will not hurt God in the least, but He will nullify their deeds.
O you who believe! Obey God, and obey the Messenger, and do not let your deeds go to waste.
Those who disbelieve, and hinder from God’s path, and then die as disbelievers—God will not forgive them.
Those who disbelieve among the People of the Scripture, and the Polytheists, will be in the Fire of Hell, where they will abide forever. These are the worst of creatures.
As for those who believe and lead a righteous life—these are the best of creatures.
Their reward is with their Lord: Gardens of Eternity beneath which rivers flow, where they will abide forever. God is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him. That is for whoever fears His Lord.
