  1. And [recall] when you said, “O Moses, we can never endure one [kind of] food. So call upon your Lord to bring forth for us from the earth its green herbs and its cucumbers and its garlic and its lentils and its onions.” [Moses] said, “Would you exchange what is better for what is less? Go into [any] settlement and indeed, you will have what you have asked.” And they were covered with humiliation and poverty and returned with anger from Allāh[upon them]. That was because they [repeatedly] disbelieved in the signs of Allāhand killed the prophets without right. That was because they disobeyed and were [habitually] transgressing.

2-AlBaqarah

  1. O mankind, eat from whatever is on earth [that is] lawful and good and do not follow the footsteps of Satan. Indeed, he is to you a clear enemy.
  2. He only orders you to evil and immorality and to say about Allāhwhat you do not know.

2-AlBaqarah

  2. He has only forbidden to you dead animals, blood, the flesh of swine, and that which has been dedicated to other than Allāh. But whoever is forced [by necessity], neither desiring [it] nor transgressing [its limit], there is no sin upon him. Indeed, Allāh is Forgiving and Merciful.

2-AlBaqarah

  1. And if only the People of the Scripture had believed and feared Allāh, We would have removed from them their misdeeds and admitted them to Gardens of Pleasure.
  2. And if only they upheld [the law of] the Torah, the Gospel, and what has been revealed to them from their Lord, they would have consumed [provision] from above them and from beneath their feet. Among them are a moderate community, but many of them – evil is that which they do.

5-AlMa’idah

5-AlMa’idah

  2. And why should you not eat of that upon which the name of Allāhhas been mentioned while He has explained in detail to you what He has forbidden you, excepting that to which you are compelled. And indeed do many lead [others] astray through their [own] inclinations without knowledge. Indeed, your Lord – He is most knowing of the transgressors.
  3. And leave what is apparent of sin and what is concealed thereof. Indeed, those who earn [blame for] sin will be recompensed for that which they used to commit.
  4. And do not eat of that upon which the name of Allāhhas not been mentioned, for indeed, it is grave disobedience. And indeed do the devils inspire their allies [among men] to dispute with you. And if you were to obey them, indeed, you would be associators [of others with Him].

6-AlAn’am

  1. And leave what is apparent of sin and what is concealed thereof. Indeed, those who earn [blame for] sin will be recompensed for that which they used to commit.
  2. And do not eat of that upon which the name of Allāhhas not been mentioned, for indeed, it is grave disobedience. And indeed do the devils inspire their allies [among men] to dispute with you. And if you were to obey them, indeed, you would be associators [of others with Him].

6-AlAn’am

  1. Say, “I do not find within that which was revealed to me [anything] forbidden to one who would eat it unless it be a dead animal or blood spilled out or the flesh of swine – for indeed, it is impure – or it be [that slaughtered in] disobedience, dedicated to other than Allāh. But whoever is forced [by necessity], neither desiring [it] nor transgressing [its limit], then indeed, your Lord is Forgiving and Merciful.”
  2. And to those who are Jews We prohibited every animal of uncloven hoof; and of the cattle and the sheep We prohibited to them their fat, except what adheres to their backs or the entrails or what is joined with bone. [By] that We repaid them for their injustice. And indeed, We are truthful.

6-AlAn’am

  1. Say, “Have you seen what Allāhhas sent down to you of provision of which you have made [some] lawful and [some] unlawful?” Say, “Has Allāh permitted you [to do so], or do you invent [something] about Allāh?”
  2. And what will be the supposition of those who invent falsehood about Allāh on the Day of Resurrection? Indeed, Allāh is full of bounty to the people, but most of them are not grateful.”

10-Yunus

  1. Then eat of what Allāhhas provided for you [which is] lawful and good. And be grateful for the favor of Allāh, if it is [indeed] Him that you worship.
  2. He has only forbidden to you dead animals, blood, the flesh of swine, and that which has been dedicated to other than Allāh. But whoever is forced [by necessity], neither desiring [it] nor transgressing [its limit] – then indeed, Allāh is Forgiving and Merciful.
  3. And do not say about what your tongues assert of untruth, “This is lawful and this is unlawful,” to invent falsehood about Allāh. Indeed, those who invent falsehood about Allāh will not succeed.
  4. [It is but] a brief enjoyment, and they will have a painful punishment.

16-AnNahl

  1. O Children of Israel, We delivered you from your enemy, and We made an appointment with you at the right side of the mount, and We sent down to you manna and quails,
  2. [Saying], “Eat from the good things with which We have provided you and do not transgress [or oppress others] therein, lest My anger should descend upon you. And he upon whom My anger descends has certainly fallen.”
  3. But indeed, I am the Perpetual Forgiver of whoever repents and believes and does righteousness and then continues in guidance.

20-TaHa

  1. [Allāhsaid], “O messengers, eat from the good foods and work righteousness. Indeed, I, of what you do, am Knowing.
  2. And indeed this, your religion, is one religion, and I am your Lord, so fear Me.”

23-AlMu’minun
