The Hour (Doomsday) الساعة

  • قَدْ خَسِرَ الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُواْ بِلِقَاء اللَّهِ حَتَّى إِذَا جَاءَتْهُمُ السَّاعَةُ بَغْتَةً قَالُواْ يَا حَسْرَتَنَا عَلَى مَا فَرَّطْنَا فِيهَا وَهُمْ يَحْمِلُونَ أَوْزَارَهُمْ عَلَى ظُهُورِهِمْ أَلاَ سَاء مَا يَزِرُونَ 31
  • وَمَا الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا إِلاَّ لَعِبٌ وَلَهْوٌ وَلَلدَّارُ الآخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ لِّلَّذِينَ يَتَّقُونَ أَفَلاَ تَعْقِلُونَ

[ الانعام 31- 33 ] (6)

  1. Losers are those who deny the encounter with God. Then, when the Hour comes upon them suddenly, they will say, “Alas for us, how we have neglected it.” And they will carry their burdens on their backs—evil is what they carry.
  2. The life of this world is nothing but game and distraction, but the Home of the Hereafter is better for those who are righteous. Do you not understand?
  3. We know that what they say grieves you. It is not you they reject, but it is God’s revelations that the wicked deny.

6-AlAn’am

  • وَلِلَّهِ غَيْبُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ وَمَا أَمْرُ السَّاعَةِ إِلاَّ كَلَمْحِ الْبَصَرِ أَوْ هُوَ أَقْرَبُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ 77

[ النحل : 77 ] (16)

  1. To God belongs the unseen of the heavens and the earth. The coming of the Hour is only as the twinkling of the eye, or even nearer. God has power over everything.

16-AnNahl

  • وَهَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ مُوسَى 9
  • إِذْ رَأَى نَارًا فَقَالَ لِأَهْلِهِ امْكُثُوا إِنِّي آنَسْتُ نَارًا لَّعَلِّي آتِيكُم مِّنْهَا بِقَبَسٍ أَوْ أَجِدُ عَلَى النَّارِ هُدًى
  • فَلَمَّا أَتَاهَا نُودِي يَا مُوسَى
  • إِنِّي أَنَا رَبُّكَ فَاخْلَعْ نَعْلَيْكَ إِنَّكَ بِالْوَادِ الْمُقَدَّسِ طُوًى
  • وَأَنَا اخْتَرْتُكَ فَاسْتَمِعْ لِمَا يُوحَى
  • إِنَّنِي أَنَا اللَّهُ لا إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنَا فَاعْبُدْنِي وَأَقِمِ الصَّلاةَ لِذِكْرِي
  • إِنَّ السَّاعَةَ آتِيَةٌ أَكَادُ أُخْفِيهَا لِتُجْزَى كُلُّ نَفْسٍ بِمَا تَسْعَى
  • فَلاَ يَصُدَّنَّكَ عَنْهَا مَنْ لاَ يُؤْمِنُ بِهَا وَاتَّبَعَ هَوَاهُ فَتَرْدَى 16

[ طه 9 – 16 ] (20)

  1. Has the story of Moses reached you?
  2. When he saw a fire, he said to his family, “Stay; I have noticed a fire; Perhaps I can bring you a torch therefrom, or find some guidance by the fire.”
  3. Then, when he reached it, he was called, “O Moses.
  4. I—I am your Lord. Take off your shoes. You are in the sacred valley of Tuwa.
  5. I have chosen you, so listen to what is revealed.
  6. I—I am God. There is no God but I. So serve Me, and practice the prayer for My remembrance.
  7. The Hour is coming—but I keep it almost hidden—so that each soul will be paid for what it endeavors.
  8. And do not let him who denies it and follows his desire turn you away from it, lest you fall.

20-TaHa

  • يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اتَّقُوا رَبَّكُمْ إِنَّ زَلْزَلَةَ السَّاعَةِ شَيْءٌ عَظِيمٌ
  • يَوْمَ تَرَوْنَهَا تَذْهَلُ كُلُّ مُرْضِعَةٍ عَمَّا أَرْضَعَتْ وَتَضَعُ كُلُّ ذَاتِ حَمْلٍ حَمْلَهَا وَتَرَى النَّاسَ سُكَارَى وَمَا هُم بِسُكَارَى وَلَكِنَّ عَذَابَ اللَّهِ شَدِيدٌ

[ الحج 1- 2 ] (22)

  1. O people, be conscious of your Lord. The quaking of the Hour is a tremendous thing.
  2. On the Day when you will see it: every nursing mother will discard her infant, and every pregnant woman will abort her load, and you will see the people drunk, even though they are not drunk—but the punishment of God is severe.

22-AlHajj

  • بَلْ كَذَّبُوا بِالسَّاعَةِ وَأَعْتَدْنَا لِمَن كَذَّبَ بِالسَّاعَةِ سَعِيرًا 11
  • إِذَا رَأَتْهُم مِّن مَّكَانٍ بَعِيدٍ سَمِعُوا لَهَا تَغَيُّظًا وَزَفِيرًا
  • وَإِذَا أُلْقُوا مِنْهَا مَكَانًا ضَيِّقًا مُقَرَّنِينَ دَعَوْا هُنَالِكَ ثُبُورًا
  • لا تَدْعُوا الْيَوْمَ ثُبُورًا وَاحِدًا وَادْعُوا ثُبُورًا كَثِيرًا
  • قُلْ أَذَلِكَ خَيْرٌ أَمْ جَنَّةُ الْخُلْدِ الَّتِي وُعِدَ الْمُتَّقُونَ كَانَتْ لَهُمْ جَزَاء وَمَصِيرًا
  • لَهُمْ فِيهَا مَا يَشَاؤُونَ خَالِدِينَ كَانَ عَلَى رَبِّكَ وَعْدًا مَسْؤُولا 16

[  الفرقان 11 – 16 ] (25)

  1. In fact, they have denied the Hour, and We have prepared for those who deny the Hour a Blaze.
  2. When it sees them from a distant place, they will hear it raging and roaring.
  3. And when they are thrown into it, into a tight place, shackled, they will plead there for death.
  4. “Do not plead for one death today, but plead for a great many deaths.”
  5. Say, “Is this better, or the Garden of Eternity promised to the righteous? It is for them a reward and a destination.
  6. They will have therein whatever they desire, forever. That is upon your Lord a binding promise.

25-AlFurqan

  • اللَّهُ يَبْدَأُ الْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيدُهُ ثُمَّ إِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ 11
  • وَيَوْمَ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ يُبْلِسُ الْمُجْرِمُونَ
  • وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُم مِّن شُرَكَائِهِمْ شُفَعَاء وَكَانُوا بِشُرَكَائِهِمْ كَافِرِينَ
  • وَيَوْمَ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَتَفَرَّقُونَ
  • فَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ فَهُمْ فِي رَوْضَةٍ يُحْبَرُونَ
  • وَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَكَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا وَلِقَاء الآخِرَةِ فَأُولَئِكَ فِي الْعَذَابِ مُحْضَرُونَ 16

[ الروم 11- 16 ] (30)

  1. God originates creation, and then repeats it. Then to Him you will be returned.
  2. On the Day when the Hour takes place, the guilty will despair.
  3. They will have no intercessors from among their idols, and they will disown their partners.
  4. On the Day when the Hour takes place—on that Day they will separate.
  5. As for those who believed and did good deeds—they will be delighted in meadows.
  6. But as for those who disbelieved, and rejected Our signs and the encounter of the Hereafter—those will be hauled into the torment.

30-ArRum

  • يَسْأَلُكَ النَّاسُ عَنِ السَّاعَةِ قُلْ إِنَّمَا عِلْمُهَا عِندَ اللَّهِ وَمَا يُدْرِيكَ لَعَلَّ السَّاعَةَ تَكُونُ قَرِيبًا 63

[ الاحزاب : 63 ] (33)

  1. The people ask you about the Hour. Say, “The knowledge thereof rests with God. But what do you know? Perhaps the hour is near.”

33-AlAhzab

  • وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لا تَأْتِينَا السَّاعَةُ قُلْ بَلَى وَرَبِّي لَتَأْتِيَنَّكُمْ عَالِمِ الْغَيْبِ لا يَعْزُبُ عَنْهُ مِثْقَالُ ذَرَّةٍ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَلا فِي الأَرْضِ وَلا أَصْغَرُ مِن ذَلِكَ وَلا أَكْبَرُ إِلاَّ فِي كِتَابٍ مُّبِينٍ 3
  • لِيَجْزِيَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ أُوْلَئِكَ لَهُم مَّغْفِرَةٌ وَرِزْقٌ كَرِيمٌ 4

[ سبأ  3 – 4 ] (34)

  1. Those who disbelieve say, “The Hour will not come upon us.” Say, “Yes indeed, by my Lord, it will come upon you. He is the Knower of the unseen.” Not an atom’s weight in the heavens and the earth, or anything smaller or larger, escapes His knowledge. All are in a Clear Record.
  2. That He may recompense those who believe and do good works. Those will have forgiveness, and a generous provision.

34-Saba’

  • اللَّهُ الَّذِي أَنزَلَ الْكِتَابَ بِالْحَقِّ وَالْمِيزَانَ وَمَا يُدْرِيكَ لَعَلَّ السَّاعَةَ قَرِيبٌ 17
  • يَسْتَعْجِلُ بِهَا الَّذِينَ لا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهَا وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مُشْفِقُونَ مِنْهَا وَيَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّهَا الْحَقُّ أَلا إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يُمَارُونَ فِي السَّاعَةِ لَفِي ضَلالٍ بَعِيدٍ 18

 [ الشورى 17 – 18 ]  (42)

  1. It is God who revealed the Book with the truth, and the Balance. And what will make you realize that perhaps the Hour is near?
  1. Those who do not believe in it seek to hasten it; but those who believe are apprehensive of it, and they know it to be the truth. Absolutely, those who question the Hour are in distant error.

42-AshShura

  • هَلْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلاَّ السَّاعَةَ أَن تَأْتِيَهُم بَغْتَةً وَهُمْ لا يَشْعُرُونَ
  • الأَخِلاَّءُ يَوْمَئِذٍ بَعْضُهُمْ لِبَعْضٍ عَدُوٌّ إِلاَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ 67
  • يَا عِبَادِ لا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْكُمُ الْيَوْمَ وَلا أَنتُمْ تَحْزَنُونَ 68
  • الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِآيَاتِنَا وَكَانُوا مُسْلِمِينَ 69
  • ادْخُلُوا الْجَنَّةَ أَنتُمْ وَأَزْوَاجُكُمْ تُحْبَرُونَ 70
  • يُطَافُ عَلَيْهِم بِصِحَافٍ مِّن ذَهَبٍ وَأَكْوَابٍ وَفِيهَا مَا تَشْتَهِيهِ الأَنفُسُ وَتَلَذُّ الأَعْيُنُ وَأَنتُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ
  • وَتِلْكَ الْجَنَّةُ الَّتِي أُورِثْتُمُوهَا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
  • لَكُمْ فِيهَا فَاكِهَةٌ كَثِيرَةٌ مِنْهَا تَأْكُلُونَ 73

[الزخرف 66 – 73 ] (43)

  1. Are they only waiting for the Hour to come upon them suddenly, while they are unaware?
  2. On that Day, friends will be enemies of one another, except for the righteous.
  3. O My servants, you have nothing to fear on that Day, nor will you grieve.
  4. Those who believed in Our revelations, and were submissive.
  5. Enter the Garden, you and your spouses, Joyfully.
  6. They will be served around with trays of gold, and cups. Therein is whatever the souls desire and delights the eyes. Therein you will stay forever.
  7. Such is the Garden you are made to inherit, because of what you used to do.
  8. Therein you will have abundant fruit, from which you eat.

43-AzZukhruf

  • فَهَلْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلاَّ السَّاعَةَ أَن تَأْتِيَهُم بَغْتَةً فَقَدْ جَاءَ أَشْرَاطُهَا فَأَنَّى لَهُمْ إِذَا جَاءَتْهُمْ ذِكْرَاهُمْ
  • فَاعْلَمْ أَنَّهُ لا إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَاسْتَغْفِرْ لِذَنبِكَ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مُتَقَلَّبَكُمْ وَمَثْوَاكُمْ

[ محمد 18 – 19 ] (47)

  1. Are they just waiting until the Hour comes to them suddenly? Its tokens have already come. But how will they be reminded when it has come to them?
  2. Know that there is no god but God, and ask forgiveness for your sin, and for the believing men and believing women. God knows your movements, and your resting-place.

47-Muhammad

  • اقْتَرَبَتِ السَّاعَةُ وَانشَقَّ الْقَمَرُ 1
  • وَإِن يَرَوْا آيَةً يُعْرِضُوا وَيَقُولُوا سِحْرٌ مُّسْتَمِرٌّ
  • وَكَذَّبُوا وَاتَّبَعُوا أَهْوَاءَهُمْ وَكُلُّ أَمْرٍ مُّسْتَقِرٌّ
  • وَلَقَدْ جَاءَهُم مِّنَ الأَنبَاء مَا فِيهِ مُزْدَجَرٌ
  • حِكْمَةٌ بَالِغَةٌ فَمَا تُغْنِ النُّذُرُ 5
  • فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ يَوْمَ يَدْعُ الدَّاعِ إِلَى شَيْءٍ نُّكُرٍ 6
  • خُشَّعًا أَبْصَارُهُمْ يَخْرُجُونَ مِنَ الأَجْدَاثِ كَأَنَّهُمْ جَرَادٌ مُّنتَشِرٌ
  • مُّهْطِعِينَ إِلَى الدَّاعِ يَقُولُ الْكَافِرُونَ هَذَا يَوْمٌ عَسِرٌ 9

[ القمر 1 – 9 ] (54)

  1. Yet whenever they see a miracle, they turn away, and say, “Continuous magic.”
  2. They lied, and followed their opinions, but everything has its time.
  3. And there came to them news containing a deterrent.
  4. Profound wisdom—but warnings are of no avail.
  5. So turn away from them. On the Day when the Caller calls to something terrible.
  6. Their eyes humiliated, they will emerge from the graves, as if they were swarming locusts.
  7. Scrambling towards the Caller, the disbelievers will say, “This is a difficult Day.”
  8. Before them the people of Noah disbelieved. They rejected Our servant, and said, “Crazy,” and he was rebuked.

54-Qamar

  • أَمْ يَقُولُونَ نَحْنُ جَمِيعٌ مُّنتَصِرٌ 44
  • سَيُهْزَمُ الْجَمْعُ وَيُوَلُّونَ الدُّبُرَ
  • بَلِ السَّاعَةُ مَوْعِدُهُمْ وَالسَّاعَةُ أَدْهَى وَأَمَرُّ
  • إِنَّ الْمُجْرِمِينَ فِي ضَلالٍ وَسُعُرٍ
  • يَوْمَ يُسْحَبُونَ فِي النَّارِ عَلَى وُجُوهِهِمْ ذُوقُوا مَسَّ سَقَرَ 48

[ القمر 44 – 48 ] (54)

  1. Or do they say, “We are united, and we will be victorious”?
  2. The multitude will be defeated, and they will turn their backs.
  3. The Hour is their appointed time—the Hour is more disastrous, and most bitter.
  4. The wicked are in confusion and madness.
  5. The Day when they are dragged upon their faces into the Fire: “Taste the touch of Saqar.”

54-Qamar

  • بَلْ يُرِيدُ الإِنسَانُ لِيَفْجُرَ أَمَامَهُ 5
  • يَسْأَلُ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ الْقِيَامَةِ
  • فَإِذَا بَرِقَ الْبَصَرُ
  • وَخَسَفَ الْقَمَرُ
  • وَجُمِعَ الشَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُ
  • يَقُولُ الإِنسَانُ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَيْنَ الْمَفَرُّ
  • كَلاَّ لا وَزَرَ 10
  • إِلَى رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ الْمُسْتَقَرُّ 11

[ القيامة  5- 11 ] (75)

  1. But man wants to deny what is ahead of him.
  2. He asks, “When is the Day of Resurrection?”
  3. When vision is dazzled.
  4. And the moon is eclipsed.
  5. And the sun and the moon are joined together.
  6. On that Day, man will say, “Where is the escape?”
  7. No indeed! There is no refuge.

75-AlQiyamah

  • يَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ السَّاعَةِ أَيَّانَ مُرْسَاهَا 42
  • فِيمَ أَنتَ مِن ذِكْرَاهَا
  • إِلَى رَبِّكَ مُنتَهَاهَا
  • إِنَّمَا أَنتَ مُنذِرُ مَن يَخْشَاهَا
  • كَأَنَّهُمْ يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَهَا لَمْ يَلْبَثُوا إِلاَّ عَشِيَّةً أَوْ ضُحَاهَا 46

[ النازعات 42 – 46 ] (79)

  1. They ask you about the Hour, “When will it take place?”
  2. You have no knowledge of it.
  3. To your Lord is its finality.
  4. You are just a warner for whoever dreads it.
  5. On the Day when they witness it—as though they only stayed an evening, or its morning.
