Faith Parts شعب الايمان

  • [9] عن ابي هريرة رضي الله عنه  عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال : (( الايمانُ بِضْعٌ وسِتُّونَ شُعْبَةً والحَيَاءُ شُعْبَةٌ مِنَ الإيمَانِ ))

( صحيح البخاري )

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Faith (Belief) consists of more than sixty branches (i.e. parts). And Haya (This term “Haya” covers a large number of concepts which are to be taken together; amongst them are self respect, modesty, bashfulness, and scruple, etc.) is a part of faith.”

(Sahih al-Bukhari)

  • [10] عَنِ عَبْدِاللهِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رضي الله عَنْهُمَا عَنْ النَّبِيَّ  صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ :  ((  المُسْلِمُ مَنْ سَلِمَ المُسْلِمُونَ مِنْ لِسَانِهِ وَيَدِهِ  والمُهَاجِرُ  مَنْ هَجَرَ مَا نَهَى اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ))

( صحيح البخاري )

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “A Muslim is the one who avoids harming Muslims with his tongue and hands And a Muhajir (emigrant) is the one who gives up (abandons) all what Allah has forbidden

(Sahih al-Bukhari)

  •  [12] عَنْ عَبْدِاللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو رضي الله عنهما : أَنَّ رَجُلاً  سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم : أَيُّ الإسْلامِ خَيْرٌ ؟  قال (( تُطْعِمْ الطَّعَامَ وَتَقْرَأُ السَّلامَ عَلَى مَنْ عَرَفْتَ وَمَنْ لَمْ تَعْرِفْ ))

( صحيح البخاري )

A man asked the Prophet (peace be upon him) , “What sort of deeds or (what qualities of) Islam are good?” The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied, ‘To feed (the poor) and greet those whom you know and those whom you do not Know

(Sahih al-Bukhari)

  • [13] عَنْ أَنَسٍ رضي الله عنه عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم  قَالَ : (( لا يُؤمِنُ أَحَدُكُمْ  حَتَّى يُحِبَّ لأَخِيهِ مَا يُحِبُّ لِنَفْسِهِ ))

( صحيح البخاري )

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “None of you will have faith till he wishes for his (Muslim) brother what he likes for himself.”

(Sahih al-Bukhari)

  • [15 ] عَنْ أَنَسٍ رضي الله عنه قَالَ : قَالَ النَّبِيُّ  الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : (( لا يُؤمِنُ أَحَدُكُمْ حَتَّى أَكُونَ أَحَبَّ إِليهِ  مِنْ وَالِدِهِ وَوَلَدِهِ وَالنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ ))  

( صحيح البخاري )

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said “None of you will have faith till he loves me more than his father, his children and all mankind.”

(Sahih al-Bukhari)

  • [16] عَنْ أَنَسٍ رضي الله عنه عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم  قَالَ : : (( ثَلاثٌ مَنْ كُنَّ فِيهِ وَجَدَ حَلاوَةَ الإيْمَانِ  : أَنْ يَكُونَ اللَّهُ  وَرَسُولُه أَحَبَّ إلِيْهِ مِمَّا سِوَاهُمَا  وَأَنْ يُحِبَّ  المَرْءَ  لايُحِبُّهُ إِلَّا لِلَّهِ  وَأَنْ يَكْرَهْ أَنْ يَعُودَ  فِي الكُفْرِ كَمَا يَكْرَهُ أَنْ يُقْذَفَ فِي النَّارَ ))

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Whoever possesses the following three qualities will have the sweetness (delight) of faith

  1. The one to whom Allah and His Apostle becomes dearer than anything else
  2. Who loves a person and he loves him only for Allah’s sake
  3. Who hates to revert to Atheism (disbelief) as he hates to be thrown into the fire.”

  • [22] عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الخُدْرِيِّ  رضي الله عنه عَنِ النَّبِيِّ  صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ :  (( يَدْخُلُ أَهْلُ الجَنَّةِ الجَنَّةَ ؛ وَأَهْلُ النَّارِ النَّارَ ؛ ثُمَّ يَقُولُ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى: أَخْرِجُوا مَنْ كَانَ فِي قَلْبِهِ مِثْقَالُ حَبَّةٍ مِنْ خَرْدَلٍ مِنْ إيْمَانٍ  ؛ فَيُخْرَجُونَ مِنْهَا قَدْ اسْوَدُّوا ؛ فَيُلْقَوْنَ فِي نَهْرِ الحَيَا – أَوْ الحَيَاةِ – شَكَّ مَالِكُ ؛ فَيَنْبُتُونَ كَمَا تَنْبِتُ الحَبَّةُ فِي جَانِبِ السَّيْلِ  ؛  أَلَمْ تَرِ أَنَّهَا تَخْرُجُ صَفْرَاءَ مُلْتَوِيَةٌ ؟))  قَالَ وَهِيبٌ : حَدَّثنَاَ عَمْرٌو (( الحياة )) وقال :(( خَرْدَلٍ مِنْ خَيْرٍ ))

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “When the people of Paradise will enter Paradise and the people of Hell will go to Hell, Allah will order those who have had faith equal to the weight of a grain of mustard seed to be taken out from Hell. So they will be taken out but (by then) they will be blackened (charred). Then they will be put in the river of Haya’ (rain) or Hayat (life) (the Narrator is in doubt as to which is the right term), and they will revive like a grain that grows near the bank of a flood channel. Don’t you see that it comes out yellow and twisted”

  • [24] عَنْ سَالِم بْنِ عَبْدِالله عَنْ أَبِيهِ  أَنَّ رَسُولَ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم  مَرَّ عَلَى رَجُلٍ مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ وَهُوَ يَعَظُ أَخَاهُ  فِي الحَيَاءِ ؛ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : (( دَعْهُ ؛ فَإِنَّ الحَيَاءَ مِنَ الإِيْمَانِ ))

Once Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) passed by an Ansari (man) who was admonishing his brother regarding Haya’. On that Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) said, “Leave him as Haya’ is a part of faith.”

  • [26 ] عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رضي الله عنه أَنَّ رَسُولَ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم سُئِلَ أَيُّ العَمَلِ أَفْضَلُ ؟ فَقَالَ : (( إِيْمَانٌ بِاللَّهِ  وَرَسُولِهِ  قِيْلَ : ثُمَّ مَاذَا ؟ قَالَ الجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ؛ قِيْلَ : ثُمَّ مَاذَا ؟  قَالَ : حَجٌّ مَبْرُورٌ ))

( صحيح البخاري )

Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) was asked, “What is the best deed?” He replied, “To believe in Allah and His Apostle (Muhammad). The questioner then asked, “What is the next (in goodness)? He replied, “To participate in Jihad (religious fighting) in Allah’s Cause.” The questioner again asked, “What is the next (in goodness)?” He replied, “To perform Hajj (Pilgrim age to Mecca) ‘Mubrur, (which is accepted by Allah and is performed with the intention of seeking Allah’s pleasure only and not to show off and without committing a sin and in accordance with the traditions of the Prophet).”

  • [ 33 ] عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رضي الله عنه عَنْ النَّبِيَّ  صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ :  (( آيَةُ المُنَافِقِ ثَلاثٌ : إِذَا حَدَّثَ كَذَبَ ؛ وَإِذَا وَعَدَ أَخْلَفَ ؛ وَإِذَا أُؤتُمِنَ خَانَ ))

( صحيح البخاري )

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “The signs of a hypocrite are three

  1. Whenever he speaks, he tells a lie
  2. Whenever he promises, he always breaks it (his promise )
  3. If you trust him, he proves to be dishonest. (If you keep something as a trust with him, he will not return it.)”

(Sahih al-Bukhari)

  • [52 ] عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ رضي الله عنه قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم  يَقُولُ (( الحَلالُ بَيِّنٌ وَالحَرَامُ بَيِّنٌ ؛ وَبَيْنَهُمَا  مُشَبَّهَاتٌ لا يَعْلَمُهَا كَثِيرٌ مِنَ النَّاسَ ؛  فَمَنِ اتَّقَى المُشَبَّهَاتِ اسْتَبْرَأَ لِدِينِهِ  وَعِرْضِهِ ؛ وَمَنْ وَقَعَ فِي الشُبُهَات  كَرَاعٍ يَرْعَى حَوْلَ الحِمَى يُوشِكَ أَنْ يُوَاقِعَهُ  ؛ أَلَا وَإنَّ لِكُلِّ مَلِكٍ حِمَى ؛ أَلَا إِنَّ حِمَى اللَّه فِي أَرْضِهِ مِحِارِمُهُ ؛ أَلَا وَإِنَّ فِي الجَسَدِ مُضْغَةٌ إِذَا صَلَحَتْ صَلَحَ الجَسَدُ كُلُّهُ وَإِذَا فَسَدَتْ فَسَدَ الجَسَدُ كُلُّهُ  ؛ أَلَا وَهِيَ القَلْبُ ))

I heard Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) saying, ‘Both legal and illegal things are evident but in between them there are doubtful (suspicious) things and most of the people have no knowledge about them. So whoever saves himself from these suspicious things saves his religion and his honor. And whoever indulges in these suspicious things is like a shepherd who grazes (his animals) near the Hima (private pasture) of someone else and at any moment he is liable to get in it. (O people!) Beware! Every king has a Hima and the Hima of Allah on the earth is His illegal (forbidden) things. Beware! There is a piece of flesh in the body if it becomes good (reformed) the whole body becomes good but if it gets spoilt the whole body gets spoilt and that is the heart “

  • [ 57 ]   عَنْ جَرِيرِ بْنِ عَبْدِاللَّهِ رضي الله عنه قَالَ )) بَايَعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم  عَلَى إِقَامِ الصَّلاةٍ وَإِيتَاءِ الزَّكَاةِ  وَالنُّصْحِ لِكُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ ))

Narrated Jarir bin Abdullah

I gave the pledge of allegiance to Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) for the following

  1. offer prayers perfectly
  2. pay the Zakat (obligatory charity)
  3. and be sincere and true to every Muslim

  • [1363]  عَنْ ثَابِت بْنِ الضَحَّاكِ  رضي الله عنه  عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم  قَالَ : (( مَنْ حَلَفَ بِمِلَّةٍ غَيْرِ الإسْلامِ  كَاذِبًا مُتَعَمِّدًا فَهُوَ كَمَا قَالَ ؛ وَمَنْ قَتَلَ نَفْسَهُ بِحَدِيدَةٍ  عُذِّبَ بِهِ فِي نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ  ))

Narrated Thabit bin Ad-Dahhak

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Whoever intentionally swears falsely by a religion other than Islam, then he is what he has said, (e.g. if he says, ‘If such thing is not true then I am a Jew,’ he is really a Jew). And whoever commits suicide with piece of iron will be punished with the same piece of iron in the Hell Fire.”
