  • [5973] عَنْ عَبْدِالله بْنِ عَمْرٍو رضي الله عنهما قاَلَ : قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم : (( إِنَّ مِنْ أَكْبَرِ الكَبَائِرِ أَنْ يَلْعَنَ الرَّجُلُ وَالِدَيْهِ )) قِيلَ : يَا رَسُولَ الله ؛ وَكَيْفَ يَلْعَنُ الرَّجُلُ وَالِدَيْهِ  ؟ قَالَ : (( يَسُبُّ الرَّجُلُ أَبَا الرُّجُلِ فَيَسُبُّ أَبَاهُ ؛ وَيسُبُّ أُمَّهُ ))

( صحيح البخاري )

Abd Allah b. ‘Amr (b. al-As) reported the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) as saying

A man’s reviling of his parents is one of the grave sins. He was asked: Messenger of Allah! How does a man revile his parents? He replied: He reviles the father of a man who then reviles his father, and he reviles a man’s mother and he reviles his

  • [ 6045 ]  عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ رضي الله عنه : أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ : ((  لا يَرْمِي رَجُلٌ رَجُلاً بِالفُسُوقِ وَلا يَرْمِيهِ  بِالكُفْرِ إِلَّا ارْتَدَّتْ عَلَيْهِ ؛ إِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ صَاحِبُهُ كَذَلِكَ ))

( صحيح البخاري )

Narrated Abu Dhar

That he heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) saying, “If somebody accuses another of Fusuq (by calling him ‘Fasiq’ i.e. a wicked person) or accuses him of Kufr, such an accusation will revert to him (i.e. the accuser) if his companion (the accused) is innocent.”

(Sahih al-Bukhari)

  • [ 6061]  عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ رضي الله عنه : أَنَّ رَجُلا  ذُكِرَ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم  فَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ رَجُلُ خَيْرًا  فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم (( وَيْحَكَ  قَطَعْتَ عُنَقَ صَاحِبِكَ  . – يَقُولُهُ مِرَارًا – إِنْ كَانَ أَحَدُكُمْ  مَادِحًا لا مَحَالَةَ فَلْيَقُلْ : أَحْسِبُ كَذَا وَكَذَا ؛ إِنْ كَانَ يُرَى أَنَّه كَذَلِكَ ؛ واللَّهُ حَسِيبُهُ ؛ وَلا يُزَكِّى عَلَى الله أَحَدًا  ))

( صحيح البخاري )

Narrated Abu Bakra

A man was mentioned before the Prophet (peace be upon him) and another man praised him greatly The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “May Allah’s Mercy be on you ! You have cut the neck of your friend.” The Prophet (peace be upon him) repeated this sentence many times and said, “If it is indispensable for anyone of you to praise someone, then he should say, ‘I think that he is so-and-so,” if he really thinks that he is such. Allah is the One Who will take his accounts (as He knows his reality) and no-one can sanctify anybody before Allah

  • [ 6064]  عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رضي الله عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ : (( إِيَّاكُمْ وَالظَّنَّ ؛ فَإِنَّ الظَّنَّ أَكْذَبُ الحَدِيثِ ؛ وَلا تَحَسَّسُوا وَلا تَجَسَّسُوا ؛ وَلا تَحَاسَدُوا وَلا تَدَابَرُوا وَلا تَبَاغَضُوا  ؛ وَكُونُوا عِبَادَ الله إِخْوَانًا ))

( صحيح البخاري )

Narrated Abu Huraira

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Beware of suspicion, for suspicion is the worst of false tales; and do not look for the others’ faults and do not spy, and do not be jealous of one another, and do not desert (cut your relation with) one another, and do not hate one another; and O Allah’s worshipers! Be brothers (as Allah has ordered you!”)

(Sahih al-Bukhari)

  • ‏[ 6069] عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رضي الله عنه قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم  يَقُولُ : (( كُلُّ أُمَّتِي مُعَافى إِلَّا المُجَاهِرُينَ  وَإِنَّ مِنَ المجَاهَرَةِ أَنْ يَعْمَلُ الرَّجُلُ  بِالَّليْلِ عَمَلاً  ثُمَّ يُصْبِحُ وَقَدْ سَتَرَهُ الله عَلَيْهِ  فَيَقُولُ : يَافُلان  عَمِلْتُ البَارِحَةَ  كَذَا وكَذَا  وَقَدْ بَاتَ يَسْتُرُهُ رَبُّهُ  وُيُصْبِحُ يَكْشِفُ سِتْرَ الله عَنْهُ ))

( صحيح البخاري )

Narrated Abu Huraira

I heard Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) saying. “All the sins of my followers will be forgiven except those of the Mujahirin (those who commit a sin openly or disclose their sins to the people). An example of such disclosure is that a person commits a sin at night and though Allah screens it from the public, then he comes in the morning, and says, ‘O so-and-so, I did such-and-such (evil) deed yesterday,’ though he spent his night screened by his Lord (none knowing about his sin) and in the morning he removes Allah’s screen from himself.”

  • [ 6077 ]  عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ الأنْصَارِيِّ  رضي الله عنه : أَنَّ رَسُولَ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ (( لا يَحِلُّ  لِرَجُلٍ أَنْ يَهْجُرَ أَخَاهُ فَوْقَ ثَلاثِ لَيَالٍ ؛ يَلْتَقِيَانِ  فَيُعْرِضُ هَذَا وَيُعْرِضُ هَذَا ؛ وَخَيْرُهُمَا الَّذِي يَبْدَأُ بِالسَّلامِ ))

( صحيح البخاري )

Narrated Abu Aiyub Al-Ansari

Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) said, “It is not lawful for a man to desert his brother Muslim for more than three nights. (It is unlawful for them that) when they meet, one of them turns his face away from the other, and the other turns his face from the former, and the better of the two will be the one who greets the other first.”

(Sahih al-Bukhari)

  •  [ 6114] عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رضي الله عنه أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ:  (( لَيْسَ الشَّدِيدُ بِالصُّرَعَةِ إِنَّما الشَّدِيدُ الَّذِي يَمْلِكُ نَفْسَهُ عِنْدَ الغَضَبِ))

( صحيح البخاري )

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported

Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, “The strong man is not one who is good at wrestling, but the strong man is one who controls himself in a fit of rage.”

(Sahih al-Bukhari)

  • [6116] عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رضي الله عنه أَنَّ رَجُلاً  قَالَ لِلْنَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم : أَوْصِنِي  قَالَ : ((لا تَغْضَبْ )) ؛ فَرَدَّدَ مِرَارًا  ؛ قَالَ : (( لا تَغْضَبْ ))

( صحيح البخاري )

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him)

A man said to the Prophet (peace be upon him), “Counsel me,” so he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Do not become angry.” The man repeated [his request for counsel] several times, and [each time] he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Do not become angry.”

(Sahih al-Bukhari)

  • [ 6117] عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بنَ حُصَيْنٍ  رضي الله عنه قَالَ : قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم (( الحَيَاءُ لا يَأتِي إِلَّا بِخَيْرٍ ))

( صحيح البخاري )

‘Imran bin Husain (May Allah be pleased with them) reported

Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, “Shyness does not bring anything except good.”

(Sahih al-Bukhari)

  • [ 6120] حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَسْعُودٍ  رضي الله عنه قَالَ : قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم  (( إِنَّ مِمَّا أَدْرَكَ النَّاسُ مِنْ كَلامِ  النُّبُوَّةِ الأولَى إِذَا لَمْ تَسْتَحْيِ فَاصْنَعْ مَا شِئْتَ ))

( صحيح البخاري )

Narrated Abu Mas`ud

The Prophet (peace be upon him)said, ‘One of the sayings of the early Prophets which the people have got is: If you don’t feel ashamed (from Haya’: pious shyness from committing religeous indiscretions) do whatever you like.”

(Sahih al-Bukhari)

  • [ 6133] عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رضي الله عنه عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله وسلم أَنَّهُ قَالَ (( لا يُلْدَغُ المُؤْمِنُ مِنْ جُحْرٍ وَاحِدٍ مَرَّتَيْنِ ))

( صحيح البخاري )

Narrated Abu Huraira

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “A believer is not stung twice (by something) out of one and the same hole.”

(Sahih al-Bukhari)

  • [6269] عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رضي الله عنهما عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ : لا يُقِيمُ الرَّجُلُ الرَّجُلَ مِنْ مَجْلِسِهِ  ثُمَّ يَجْلِسُ فِيهِ ))

( صحيح البخاري )

Narrated Ibn `Umar

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “A man should not make another man get up from his (the latter’s) seat (in a gathering) in order to sit there

(Sahih al-Bukhari)

  • [ 6290] عن عبدالله رضي الله عنه قال : قال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم (( إِذَا كُنْتُمْ ثَلاثَةً فَلا يَتَنَاجَى رَجُلانِ دُونَ الآخَرِ حَتَّى تَخْتَلِطُوا بِالنَّاسِ أَجْلَ أَنْ يُحْزِنَهُ ))

( صحيح البخاري )

Narrated `Abdullah

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “When you are three persons sitting together, then no two of you should hold secret counsel excluding the third person until you are with some other people too, for that would grieve him.”

(Sahih al-Bukhari)

  • (106) عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ رضي الله عنه عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم  قَالَ :  (( ثَلاثَةٌ لا يُكَلِّمُهُمُ الله يَوْمَ القِيَامَةِ وَلا يَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِمْ وَلا يُزكِّيهِمْ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ  )) قَالَ : فَقَرَأَهَا رَسُولُ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ثَلاثَ مِرَارٍ  . َقالَ أَبُو ذَرٍّ : خَابُوا وَخَسِرُوا ؛ مَنْ هُمْ يَارَسُولَ الله ؟  قَالَ : (( المُسْبِلُ ؛ وَالمَنَّانُ ؛ وَالمُنْفِّقُ سِلْعَتَهُ  بِالحَلِفِ الكَاذِبِ ))

( صحيح مسلم )

It is narrated o the authority of Abu Dharr that the Messenger of Allah (may ace he upon him) observed

Three are the (persons) with whom Allah would neither speak on the Day of Resurrection, nor would look at them nor would absolve the and there is a painful chastisement for them. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) repeated it three times. Abu Dharr remarked: They failed and they lost; who are these persons, Messenger of Allah? Upon this he (the Holy) Prophet) observed: They are: the dragger of lower garment, the recounter of obligation the seller of goods by false oath

  • (90)  عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ رضي الله عنه قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم :  (( ثَلَاثُ  لا يَحَلُّ لأَحَدٍ أَنْ يَفْعَلَهُنَّ : لا يَؤُمُّ رَجُلٌ قَوْمًا  فَيَخُصُّ نَفْسَهُ بِالدُّعَاءِ دُونَهُمْ ؛ فَإِنْ فَعَلَ  فَقَدْ خَانَهُمْ ؛ وَلَا يَنْظُرُ فِي قَعْرِ بَيْتٍ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَسْتَأْذِنَ فَإِنْ فَعَلَ فَقَدْ دَخَلَ ؛ وَلَا يُصَلِّى وَهُوَ حَقِنٌ حَتَّى يَتَخَفَّفَ ))

( سنن أبي داود )

Narrated Thawban

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: Three things one is not allowed to do: supplicating Allah specifically for himself and ignoring others while leading people in prayer; if he did so, he deceived them; looking inside a house before taking permission: if he did so, it is as if he entered the house, saying prayer while one is feeling the call of nature until one eases oneself

(Sunan Abi Dawud)

  • (4599)  عن عامر بن سعد عن  أبيه قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : (( إِنَّ أَعْظَمَ المُسْلِمِينَ فِي المُسْلِمِينَ جُرْمًا  مَنْ سَأَلَ عَنْ أَمْرٍ لَمْ يُحَرَّمْ  فَحُرِّمَ عَلَى النَّاسِ مِنْ أَجْلِ مَسْأَلَتِهِ ))

( سنن أبي داود )

‘Amir b. sa’id on his father’s authority reported the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) as saying

The Muslim who offends most against the Muslims is he who enquires about something which has not been forbidden to men, and it is declared forbidden because of his enquiry

(Sunan Abi Dawud)

  • (4670)  عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رضي الله عنه قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : (( أَكْمَلُ المُؤمِنِينَ إِيمَانًا أَحْسَنُهُمْ خُلُقًا ))

Narrated AbuHurayrah

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: The most perfect believer in respect of faith is he who is best of them in manners

(Sunan Abi Dawud)

  •  (4768) عَنْ عَبْدِاللهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رضي الله عنهما أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ : (( إِنَّ الهَدْيَ  الصَّالِحَ وَالسَّمْتَ الصَّالِحَ وَالاقْتِصَادَ جُزْءٌ مِنْ خَمْسَةٍ وَعِشْرِينَ جُزْءًا مِنَ النُّبُوَّةِ  ))

( سنن أبي داود )

Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Good way, dignified good bearing and moderation are the twenty-fifth part of Prophecy

(Sunan Abi Dawud)

(4864) عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رضي الله عنه أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ  الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ :  ((  مِنْ شَرِّ النَّاسٍ ذُو الوَجْهَيْنِ  الَّذِي يَأْتِي هَؤُلَاءِ بِوَجْهٍ  وَهَؤُلَاءِ بِوَجْهٍ ))

( سنن أبي داود )

Abu Hurairah reported the Prophet (peace be upon him) as saying

The worst of the people is a man who is double-faced; he presents one face to some and another to others

(Sunan Abi Dawud)

  • (4892) عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رضي الله عَنْهُمَا قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم :  (( اذْكُرُوا مَحَاسِنَ  مَوْتَاكُمْ وَكُفُّوا عَنْ مَسَاوِيهِمْ ))

Narrated Abdullah ibn Umar

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Make a mention of the virtues of your dead, and refrain from (mentioning) their evils

(Sunan Abi Dawud)

  • (4895 ) عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رضي الله عنه أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ  الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ :  (( إِيَّاكُمْ وَالحَسَدَ ؛ فَإِنَّ الحَسَدَ يَأْكُلُ الحَسَنَاتِ كَمَا تَأْكُلُ النَّارُ الحَطَبَ )) أَوْ قَالَ (( العُشْبَ ))

( سنن أبي داود )

Narrated AbuHurayrah

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Avoid envy, for envy devours good deeds just as fire devours fuel or (he said) “grass

(Sunan Abi Dawud)

  • (5121)  عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ  عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم  قَالَ (( حُبُّكَ الشَّيْءَ يُعْمِي وَيُصِمُّ ))

Narrated AbudDarda’

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Your love for a thing causes blindness and deafness

(Sunan Abi Dawud)

  • (5215)  عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الخُدْرِيِّ  رضي الله عنه أَنَّ  أَهْلَ قُرَيظَةَ  لَمَّا نَزَلُوا عَلَى حُكْمِ سَعْدٍ أَرْسَلَ إِلَيْهِ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَجَاءَ عَلَى حِمَارٍ أَقْمَرَ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم (( قُومُوا إِلَى سَيِّدِكُمْ )) أَوْ ((إِلَى خَيْرِكُمْ )) ؛ فَجَاءَ حَتَّى قَعَدَ إِلَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم .

Abu Sa’id al-Khudri said

When Banu Quraizah capitulated agreeing to accept Sa’d’s judgement, the Prophet (peace be upon him) sent a messenger to him. When he came riding on a white ass, the prophet (peace be upon him) said: stand up to (show respect to) your chief, or he said : “to the best of you”. He came and sat beside the Messenger of Allah (May peace be upon him)

  • (1162) عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رضي الله عنه قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : (( أَكْمَلُ المُؤمِنِيْنَ إِيْمَانًا أَحْسَنُهُمْ خُلُقًا ؛ وِخَيارُكُمْ خِيَارُكُمْ لِنَسَائِهِمْ خُلُقًا ))

( جامع الترمذي )

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported

Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, “The believers who show the most perfect Faith are those who have the best behaviour, and the best of you are those who are the best to their wives”

  • (1939) عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ يَزِيدَ رضي الله عنها قَالَتْ : قَالَ رَسُولُ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم (( لا يَحِلُّ الكَذِبُ إِلَّا فِي ثَلاثٍ : يُحَدِّثُ امْرَأَتَهُ لِيُرْضِيهَا ؛ وَالكَذِبُ فِي الحَرْبِ ؛ وَالكَذِبُ لِيُصْلِحَ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ ))

( جامع الترمذي )

Asma bint Yazid narrated that the Messenger of Allah said

“it is not lawful to lie except in three cases: Something the man tells his wife to please her, to lie during war, and to lie in order to bring peace between the people.”

  • (1954)  عَنْ أَبِي سعيد رضي الله عنه قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : (( مَنْ لا يَشْكُرُ  النَّاسَ لا يَشْكُرُ اللهَ ))

( جامع الترمذي )

Abu Sa’eed narrated that the Messenger of Allah said

“Whoever is not grateful to the people, he is not grateful to Allah.”

  • (1987)  عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ رضي الله عنه قَالَ  : قَالَ لِيَ رَسُولُ اللهِ  صلى الله عليه وسلم (( اتِّقِ اللهَ حَيْثُمَا كُنْتَ ؛ وَاتْبِعِ السَّيِّئَةَ الحَسَنَةَ تَمْحُهَا  ؛ وَخَالِقِ النَّاسَ بِخُلُقٍ حَسَنٍ  ))

( جامع الترمذي )

Abu Dharr said

“The Messenger of Allah said to me: ‘Have Taqwa of Allah wherever you are, and follow an evil deed with a good one to wipe it out, and treat the people with good behavior.”

  • (1995)  عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رضي الله عنهما :ّ عن النَّبِيٍّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ : (( لا تُمَارِ أَخَاكَ ؛ وَلا تُمَازِحْهُ ؛ وَلا تَعِدْهُ مَوْعِدَةً  فَتُخْلِفَهُ ))

( جامع الترمذي )

Ibn Abbas narrated that the Messenger of Allah said

“Do not argue with your brother, do not joke with him, and do not make a promise, only to not fulfill it.”

  • (2002)  عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ رضي الله عنه أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ (( مَا شَيْءٌ أَثْقَلَ فِي مِيزَانِ المُؤْمِنِ يَوْمَ  القِيَامَةِ مِنْ خُلُقٍ حَسَنٍ ؛ وَإِنَّ الله لَيُبْغِضُ الفَاحِشَ البَذِيءَ ))

( جامع الترمذي )

Abu Ad-Dardh narrated that the Messenger of Allah said

“Nothing is heavier on the believer’s Scale on the Day of Judgment than good character. For indeed Allah, Most High, is angered by the shameless obscene person.”

  • (2011)  عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رضي الله عنهما : أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ لأَشَجَّ عَبْدَ القَيْسِ : إِنَّ فِيكَ خَصْلَتَيْنِ يُحِبُّهُمَا اللهُ : الحِلْمُ والأَنَاةُ ))

( جامع الترمذي )

Ibn ‘Abbas narrated that the Messenger of Allah said to the Ashajj ‘Abdul-Qais

“Indeed there are two traits in you that Allah loves: Forbearance, and deliberateness.”

  • 2013)  عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ رضي الله عنه عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم  قَالَ ((  مَنْ أُعْطِيَ حَظَّهُ مِنَ الرِّفْقِ ؛ فَقَدْ أُعْطِيَ حَظَّهُ مِنَ الخَيْرِ ؛ وَمَنْ حُرِمَ حَضَّهُ مِنَ الرِّفْقِ فَقَدْ حُرِمَ حَضَّهُ مِنَ الخَيْرِ ))

Abu Ad-Darda narrated that the Messenger of Allah said

“Whoever was given his share of gentleness, then he has been given a share of good. And whoever has been prevented from his share of gentleness, then he has been prevented from his share of good.”

  • (2034)  عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِاللهِ رضي الله عنهما عَنِ النَّبِيِّ  صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ : (( مَنْ أُعْطِيَ عَطَاءً فَوَجَدَ  فَلْيَجْزِ بِهِ ؛ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ  فَلْيُثْنِ ؛ فَإِنَّ مَنْ أَثْنَى  فَقَدْ شَكَرَ  وَمْنْ كَتَمَ فَقَدْ كَفَرَ ؛ وَمَنْ تَحَلَّى  بِمَا لَمْ يُعْطَهُ  كَانَ كَلابِسِ ثَوْبَيْ زُورٍ ))

Jabir narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said

“Whoever is given a gift, then if he finds something let him reciprocate. If he has nothing, then let him mention some praise. For whoever has mentioned some praise, then he has expressed his gratitude. And whoever refrains (from doing so) then he has committed Kufr. And whoever pretends to be satisfied by that which he was not given, he is like the one who wears a garment of falsehood.”

  • (2035)  عَنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ  رضي الله عنهما  قاَلَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم (( مَنْ صُنِعَ إِلَيْهِ مَعْرُوفٌ  فَقَالَ لِفَاعِلِهِ : جَزَاكَ اللهُ خَيْرًا ؛ فَقَدْ أَبْلَغَ فِي الثَّنَاءِ ))

Usamah bin Zaid narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said

“Whoever some good was done to him, and he says: ‘May Allah reward you in goodness’ then he has done the most that he can of praise.”

  • (2169) عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ بْنِ اليَمَانِ  رضي الله عنه عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ : وَالَّذِي نِفْسِي بِيَدِهِ  لَتَأْمُرُنَّ بِالمَعْرُوفِ وَلَتَنْهَوُنَّ عَنْ المُنْكَرِ  أَوْ لَيُوشِكَنَّ اللهُ أَنْ يَبْعَثَ عَلَيْكُمْ عِقَابًا مِنْهُ  ثُمَّ تَدْعُونَهُ فَلَا يُسْتَجَابُ لَكُمْ ))

Hudhaifah bin Al-Yaman narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said

“By the One in Whose Hand is my soul! Either you command good and forbid evil, or Allah will soon send upon you a punishment from Him, then you will call upon Him, but He will not respond to you. ”

  • (2317) عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رضي الله عنه قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم :  (( مِنْ حُسْنِ إِسْلامِ المَرْءِ تَرْكُهُ مَا لا يَعْنِيهِ ))

Abu Hurairah narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said

“Indeed among the excellence of a person’s Islam is that he leaves what does not concern him.”

  • (2330)  عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ رضي الله عنه  : أَنَّ رَجُلاً  قَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ الله ؛ أَيُّ النَّاسِ خَيْرٌ ؟ قَالَ : (( مَنْ طَالَ عُمُرُهُ وَحَسُنَ عَمَلُهُ )) قَالَ : فَأَيُّ النَّاسِ شَرٌّ ؟  قَالَ : (( مَنْ طَالَ عُمُرُهُ  وَسَاءَ عَمَلُهُ ))

‘Abdur-Rahman bin Abi-Bakrah narrated from his father that a man said

“O Messenger of Allah! Which of the people is the best?” He said: “He whose life is long and his deeds are good.” He said: “Then which of the people is the worst?” He said: “He whose life is long and his deeds are bad.”

  • (2486) عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رضي الله عَنِ النَّبِيَّ  صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ : (( الطَّاعِمُ الشَّاكِرُ بِمَنْزِلَةِ الصَّائِمِ  الصَّابِرِ ))

Abu Hurairah narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said

“The one who eats and is grateful is like the status of the patient fasting person.”

  • (2493)  عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ رضي الله عنه  : أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم  قَالَ (( مَنْ كَظَمَ غَيْظًا  وَهُوَ يَقْدِرُ عَلَى أَنْ يُنَفِّذَهُ  دَعَاهُ الله عَلَى  رُؤوسِ الخَلائِقِ يَوْمَ القِيَامَةِ حَتَّى يُخَيِّرَهُ فِي أَيِّ الحُورِ شَاءَ  ))

Sahl bin Mu’ad bin Anas narrated from his father, that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said

“Whoever suppresses his rage, while he is able to exact it, Allah will call him before the heads of creation [on the Day of Judgement] so that he can chose whichever of the Hur he wishes.”

  • (2752) عَنْ عَبْدِاللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو  رضي الله عنهما  : أَنَّ رَسُولَ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم  قَالَ (( لا يَحِلُّ لِلْرَّجُلِ أَنْ يُفَرِّقَ بَيْنَ اثْنَيْنِ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِمَا ))

Narrated ‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr

that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “It is not lawful for a man to separate two people except with their permission.”

  • (2595)  عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنَ  حُصَيْنٍ  رضي الله عنهما  قَالَ : بَيْنَمَا رَسُولُ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم  فِي بَعْضِ أَسْفَارِهِ ؛ وَامْرَأَةٌ مِنَ الأنْصَارِ عَلَى نَاقَةٍ فَضَجِرَتْ فَلَعَنَتْهَا ؛ فَسَمِعَ ذَلِكَ رَسُولُ اللِه صلى الله عليه وسلم  فَقَالَ (( خُذُوا مَا عَلَيْهَا وَدَعُوهَا فَإِنَّهَا مَلْعُونَةٌ  ))  قَالَ عِمْرَانُ : فَكَأَنِّي أَرَاهَا الآنَ تَمْشِي فِي النَّاسِ مَا يَعْرِضُ لَهَا أَحَدٌ .

‘Imran b. Husain reported

We were with Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) in some of his journeys and there was a woman from the Ansar riding a she-camel that it shied and she invoked curse upon that. Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) heard it and said: Unload that and set it free for it is accursed. ‘Imran said: I still perceive that (dromedary) walking amongst people and none taking any notice of that
