Oppressions المظالم

  • [2442]  عَنْ عَبْدِاللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ رضي الله عَنْهُمَا  أَنَّ رَسُولَ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ :  (( المسلمُ  أخُوا المسلمِ لا يَظْلِمُهُ ولا يُسْلِمُهُ  وَمَنْ كَانَ فِي حَاجَةِ أَخِيهِ كَانَ اللَّهُ فِي حَاجَتِهِ ومن فَرَّجَ عن مسلمٍ كُرْبِةً  فَرَّجَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ كُرْبَةً من كُرُبَاتِ يَومِ القِيَامَةِ وَمَنْ سَتَرَ مسلِمًا سَتَرَهُ الله يومَ القيامَةِ ))

Narrated `Abdullah bin `Umar

Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) said, “A Muslim is a brother of another Muslim, so he should not oppress him, nor should he hand him over to an oppressor. Whoever fulfilled the needs of his brother, Allah will fulfill his needs; whoever brought his (Muslim) brother out of a discomfort, Allah will bring him out of the discomforts of the Day of Resurrection, and whoever screened a Muslim, Allah will screen him on the Day of Resurrection . ”

  • [2444] عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رضي الله عنه قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : (( انْصُرْ أَخَاكَ ظَالِمًا أًوْ مَظْلُوماً )) قًالًوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هَذَا نَنْصُرُهُ مَظْلُومًا ؛ فَكَيْفَ نَنْصُرُهُ ظَالِمًا  ؟ قَالَ (( تَأخُذُ فوقَ يَدَيْهِ ))

Narrated Anas

Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) said, “Help your brother, whether he is an oppressor or he is an oppressed one. People asked, “O Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him)! It is all right to help him if he is oppressed, but how should we help him if he is an oppressor?” The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “By preventing him from oppressing others.”

  • [2445] عَنِ البَرَاءِ بنِ عَازِبٍ رضي الله عنهما قَالَ : (( أَمَرَنَا النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم  بِسَبْعٍ وَنَهَانَا عَنْ سَبْعٍ فَذَكَرَ : عِيَادَةَ المرِيضِ  وَاتِّبَاعَ الجَنَائِزَ  وَتَشْمِيتَ العَاطِسِ وَرَدَّ السَّلامِ وَنَصْرَ المَظْلُومِ  وَإِجَابةَ الدَّاعِي وَإِبْرَارَ المقْسِمِ ))

Narrated Muawiya bin Suwaid

I heard Al-Bara’ bin `Azib saying, “The Prophet (peace be upon him) orders us to do seven things and prohibited us from doing seven other things.” Then Al-Bara’ mentioned the following:– (1) To pay a visit to the sick (inquiring about his health), (2) to follow funeral processions, (3) to say to a sneezer, “May Allah be merciful to you” (if he says, “Praise be to Allah!”), (4) to return greetings, (5) to help the oppressed, (6) to accept invitations, (7) to help others to fulfill their oaths

  • [2447]  عَنْ عَبْدِاللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ رضي الله عَنْهُمَا عَنْ النَّبِيَّ  صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ :  (( الظُّلمُ ظُلُمَاتٌ يَوْمَ القِيَامَةِ ))

Ibn ‘Umar (RAA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said

“Oppression will turn into darkness on the Day of Resurrection.” Agreed upon

  • 2448]  عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رضي الله عنهما  أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم بَعَثَ مُعَاذاً إِلَى اليَمَنِ  فَقَالَ : (( اتَّقِ دعوةَ المظلومِ فَإِنَّهَا لَيْسَ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَ اللَّهِ حِجَابٌ ))

Narrated Ibn `Abbas

The Prophet (peace be upon him) sent Mu`adh to Yemen and said, “Be afraid, from the curse of the oppressed as there is no screen between his invocation and Allah.”

  • [2452]  عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ زيد قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ  (( مَنْ ظَلَمَ مِنّ الأرْضِ شَيْئًا طُوِّقَهُ مِنْ سَبْعِ أرَضِينَ  ))

Narrated Sa`id bin Zaid

Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) said, “Whoever usurps the land of somebody unjustly, his neck will be encircled with it down the seven earths (on the Day of Resurrection). ”

  • [2457]  عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رضي الله عنها عَنْ النَّبِيَّ  صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ :  (( إنَّ أبغَضَ الرِّجِالِ إِلَى اللَّهِ الألَدُّ الخَصِمُ ))

‘A’isha reported Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) as saying

The most despicable amongst persons in the eye of Allah is one who tries to fall into dispute with others (for nothing but only to display his knowledge and power of argumentation)

  • [2458]  عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ رضي الله عنها أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم سَمِعَ خُصُومَةً  بِبَابِ حُجْرَتِهِ  فَخَرَجَ إِلَيْهِمْ فَقَالَ : (( إِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشُرٌ وإنه يأتيني  الخَصْمُ فَلَعَلَّ بَعْضَكُمْ أَنْ يَكُونَ  أَبْلَغ مِنْ بَعْضٍ  فَأَحْسِبُ أَنَّه صَدَقَ ؛ فَأَقْضَي لَهُ بِذَلِكَ  فَمَنْ قَضَيْتُ لَهُ بِحَقِّ مُسْلِمٍ  فَإِنَّمَا هِيَ قِطْعَةٌ مِنَ النَّارِ فَلْيَأْخُذْهَا أَوْ لِيَتْرُكْهَا  ))

Narrated Um Salama

(the wife of the Prophet) Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) heard some people quarreling at the door of his dwelling, so he went out to them and said, “I am only a human being, and litigants with cases of dispute come to me, and someone of you may happen to be more eloquent (in presenting his case) than the other, whereby I may consider that he is truthful and pass a judgment in his favor. If ever I pass a judgment in favor of somebody whereby he takes a Muslim’s right unjustly, then whatever he takes is nothing but a piece of Fire, and it is up to him to take or leave

  • [2459] عَنْ عَبْدِاللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو  رضي الله عنهما عَنْ النَّبِيَّ  صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ : (( أَرْبَعٌ  مَنْ كُنَّ فيهِ كانَ مُنَافِقًا  أَوْ كَانَتْ فيهِ خَصْلَةٌ  مِنْ أربَعٍ  كَانَتْ فِيهِ خَصْلَةٌ مِنَ النِّفَاقَ  حتى يَدَعَهَا : إذا حدَّثَ كَذَبَ ؛ وإذا وَعَدَ أَخْلَفَ ؛ وإذا عَاهَدَ غَدَرَ ؛ وإذا خَاصَمَ فَجَرَ  ))

Narrated `Abdullah bin `Amr

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Whoever has (the following) four characters will be a hypocrite, and whoever has one of the following four characteristics will have one characteristic of hypocrisy until he gives it up. These are: (1 ) Whenever he talks, he tells a lie; (2) whenever he makes a promise, he breaks it; (3) whenever he makes a covenant he proves treacherous; (4) and whenever he quarrels, he behaves impudently in an evil insulting manner.”

  • (137)  عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ رضي الله عنه أَنَّ رَسُولَ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ : (( مَنْ اقْتَطَعَ حَقَّ امْرِىءٍ مُسْلِمٍ  بِيَمِينِهِ  فَقَدْ أَوْجَبَ الله لَهُ النَّارَ ؛ وَحَرَّمَ عَلَيْهِ الجَنَّةَ )) فَقَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ : وَإِنْ كَانَ شَيْئاً يَسِيراً يَارَسُولَ الله ؟ قَالَ : (( وَإِنْ قَضِيبًا مِنْ أَرَاكٍ ))

Abu Umamah (May Allah bepleased with him) reported

Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, “Allah decrees the (Hell) Fire and debars Jannah for the one who usurps the rights of a believer by taking a false oath.” One man asked: “O Messenger of Allah! Even if it should be for an insignificant thing?” He said, “Even if it be a stick of the Arak tree (i.e., the tree from which Miswak sticks are taken)”

  • (3244) عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِاللهِ رضي الله عنهما  قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : (( لا يَحْلِفُ أَحَدٌ عِنْدَ مِنْبَرِي هَذَا عَلَى يَمِينٍ آثِمَةٍ وَلَوْ عَلَى سِوَاكٍ أَخْضَرَ إِلَّا تَبَوَّأَ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ ؛ أَوْ وَجَبَتَ لَهُ النَّارُ ))

Narrated Jabir ibn Abdullah

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: One should not take a false oath at this pulpit of mine even on a green tooth-stick; otherwise he will make his abode in Hell, or Hell will be certain for him
