Purification الطهارة

  • عن زيد بن أرقم عَنْ  رَسُولِ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ : (( إِنَّ هَذِهِ الحُشُوشُ  مُحْتَضَرَةٌ  فَإِذَا أَتَى أَحَدُكُمُ الخَلَاءَ  فَلْيَقُلْ : أَعُوذُ بِاللهِ مِنَ الخُبْثِ وَالخَبَائِثِ  ))

( سنن أبي داود )

Narrated Zayd ibn Arqam

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: These privies are frequented by the jinns and devils. So when anyone amongst you goes there, he should say: “I seek refuge in Allah from male and female devils

(Sunan Abi Dawud)

  • (30)  عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رضي الله عنها أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ  صلى الله عليه وسلم كَانَ إِذَا خَرَجَ مِنَ الغَائِطِ  قَالَ (( غُفْرَانَكَ ))

( سنن أبي داود )

Narrated Aisha, Ummul Mu’minin

When the Prophet (peace be upon him) came out of the privy, he used to say: “Grant me Thy forgiveness.”

  • (62)  عَنْ أَبِي غُطَيْفٍ الهُذَلِيِّ  قَالَ : كُنْتُ عِنْدَ عَبْدِاللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ  فَلَمَّا نُودِيَ بِالظُّهْرِ تَوَضَّأَ  فَصَلَّى  ؛ فَلَمَّا نُودِيَ بِالعَصْرِ تَوَضَّأَ  ؛ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ  فَقَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ (( مَنْ تَوَضَّأَ عَلَى طُهْرٍ كَتَبَ اللهُ لَهُ عَشْرَ حَسَنَاتٍ ))

Narrated Abdullah ibn Umar

AbuGhutayf al-Hudhali reported: I was in the company of Ibn Umar. When the call was made for the noon (zuhr) prayer, he performed ablution and said the prayer. When the call for the afternoon (‘asr) prayer was made, he again performed ablution. Thus I asked him (about the reason of performing ablution). He replied: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: For a man who performs ablution in a state of purity, ten virtuous deeds will be recorded (in his favour)

  • (75) عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رضي الله عنه أَنَّ رَسُولَ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ : (( إِذَا كَانَ أَحَدَكُمْ فِي المَسْجِدِ  فَوَجَدَ رِيحًا بَيْنَ أَلْيَتَيْهِ  فَلَا يَخْرُجْ حَتَّى يَسْمَعَ صَوْتًا أَوْ يَجِدَ رِيحًا ))

( جامع الترمذي )

Abu Hurairah narrated that

Allah’s Messenger said: “When one of you is in the Masjid, and he senses wind between his buttocks then he should not exit until he hears a sound or smells an odor.”

(Jami` at-Tirmidhi)

  • (81)  عَنِ البراء بْنِ عَازِبٍ  رضي الله عنهما قَالَ : سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم  عَنِ الوُضُوءِ مِنْ لُحُومِ الِإبِلِ  ؟ فَقَالَ (( تَوَضَّئُوا مِنَهَا )) وَسُئِلَ عَنِ الوُضُوءِ مِنْ لُحُومِ الغَنَمِ ؟ فَقَالَ (( لا تَتَوَضَّئُوا منها ))

Al-Bara bin Azib narrated

Allah’s Messenger was asked about performing Wudu for camel meat. He said: “Perform Wudu for it.” He Was asked about Wudu after eating goat meat. So he said: “Do not perform Wudu for it.”

  • (105)  عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ رضي الله عنها قَالَتْ :  قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ؛ إِنِّي امْرَأَةٌ  أَشُدُّ ظَفْرَ رَأْسِي  أَفَأَنْقُضُهُ  لِغُسْلِ الجَنَابَةِ ؟ قَالَ : (( لا ؛ إِنَّمَا يَكْفِيكِ أَنْ تَحْثِينَ عَلَى رَأْسِكِ ثَلاثَ حَثَيَاٍت مِنَ مَاءٍ ؛ ثُمَّ تُفِيضِينَ عَلَى سَائِرِ جَسَدِكِ المَاءَ ؛ فَتَطْهُرِينَ )) . أَوْ قَالَ : (( فَإِذَا أَنْتِ قَدْ تَطَهَّرْتِ ))

Umm Salamah narrated

“I said: ‘O Messenger of Allah! I am woman with tight braids on my head, should I undo it to perform Ghusl for Janabah? He said: ‘No. It is sufficient that you only pour three scoops of water (with hands held together) over your head, then pour water over the rest of your body, to be purified.'” Or he said: “Then you will be purified.”

  • (120) عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ عُمَرَ رضي الله عنهما : أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم : أَيَنَامُ أَحَدُنَا  وَهُوَ جُنُبٌ ؟ قَالَ : (( نَعَمْ ؛ إِذَا تَوَضَّأْ ))

( جامع الترمذي )

Umar narrated that

he asked the Prophet: “Can one of us sleep while he is Junub?” So he replied: “Yes, when he performs Wudu.”

  • (147)  عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رضي الله عنه  قَالَ : دَخَلَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ  المسْجِدَ وَالنَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم جَالِسٌ  فَصَلَّى ؛ فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ  قَالَ : اللَّهُمَّ ارْحَمْنِي وَمُحَمَّدًا وَلا تَرْحَمْ مَعَنَا أَحَدًا ؛ فَالْتَفَتَ إِليهِ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم  فَقَالَ (( لَقَدْ تَحَجَّرْتَ وَاسِعًا )) فَلَمْ يَلْبَثْ أَنْ بَالَ فِي المَسْجِدِ ؛ فَأَسْرَعَ إليْهِ النَّاسُ ؛ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله لعيه وسلم  أَهْرِيقُوا عَلَيْهِ سَجْلاً مِنْ مَاءٍ ؛ أَوْ ((دَلْوًا مِنْ مَاءٍ )) ثُمَّ قَالَ (( إِنَّمَا بُعِثْتُمْ مُيَسِّرِينَ وَلَمْ تُبْعَثُوا مُعَسِّرِينَ ))

Abu Hurairah narrated

“A Bedouin entered the Masjid while the Prophet was sitting. He prayed, then when he was finished, he said: ‘O Allah! Have mercy upon me and Muhammad, and do not have mercy on anyone along with us.’ The Prophet turned, towards him and said: ‘You have restricted something that is unrestricted.’ It was not long before he was urinating in the Masjid. So the people rushed to him. But Prophet said: ‘Pour a bucket of water over it – or – a tumbler of water over it.’ Then he said: ‘You have been sent to make things easy (for the people); you have not been sent to make things difficult for them.'”

  • (36) عَنْ عَبْدِاللهِ بْنِ مُغَفَّلٍ  رضي الله عنه  عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم  قَالَ : (( لا يَبُولَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي مُسْتَحَمِّهِ  ؛ فَإنَّ عَامَّةَ الوَسْوَاسِ مِنْهُ ))

( سنن النسائي )

It was narrated from ‘Abdullah bin Mughaffal that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said

“None of you should urinate in the place where he bathes, for most Waswas (devilish whispers) [1] come from that.” [1] I.e., with regard to whether the urine has soiled his body or not

  • (220) عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رضي الله عنه قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم :  (( لا يَغْتَسِلُ أَحَدُكُمْ  فِي المَاءِ الدَّائِمِ وَهُوَ جُنُبٌ ))

( سنن النسائي )

Abu Hurairah said

“The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: ‘None of you should perform Ghusl in standing water while he is Junub.’

(Sunan an-Nasa’i)

  • (221) عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رضي الله عنه قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : ((  لا يَبُولَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي المَاءِ الرَّاكِدِ  ثُمَّ يَغْتَسِلُ مِنْهُ ))

( سنن النسائي )

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said

“None of you should urinate into still water and then perform Ghusl from it.”

(Sunan an-Nasa’i)

  • (401) عَنْ جَابِرٍ رضي الله عنه عَنِ النَّبِيِّ  صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ : (( مَنْ كَانَ يُؤمِنُ  بِاللهِ واليَوْمِ الآخِرِ فَلا يَدْخُلِ الحَمَّامَ إِلَّا بِمِئْزَرٍ ))

( سنن النسائي )

It was narrated from Jabir that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said

“Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him not enter a bath house except wearing an Izar (waist wrap).”

(Sunan an-Nasa’i)

  • (661)  عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الخدري رضي الله عنه أَنَّ رَسُولَ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ :  (( لا تَنْظُرِ المَرْأَةُ إِلَى عَوْرَةِ المَرْأَةِ وَلا يَنْظُرِ الرَّجُلُ إِلَى عَوْرَةِ الرَّجُلِ )))

It was narrated from ‘Abdur-Rahman bin Abu Sa’eed Al-Khudri from his father that

The Messenger of Allah said: “No woman should look at the nakedness of another woman, and no man should look at the nakedness of another man.”

(Sunan Ibn Majah)

  • (649)  عَنْ أَنَسٍ رضي الله عنه قَالَ :كانَ رَسُولُ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وَقَّتَ لِلْنُّفَسَاءِ أَرْبَعِينَ يَوْمًا  إَلَّا أَنْ تَرَى الطُّهْرَ قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ

It was narrated that Anas said

“The Messenger of Allah set the time for postnatal bleeding at forty days, except for one who becomes pure before that.”

(Sunan Ibn Majah)

  • (639) عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رضي الله عنه قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : (( مَنْ أَتَى حَائِضًا أَوْ امْرَأَةً فِي دُبُرِهَا  أَوْ كَاهِنًا  فَصَدَّقَهُ  بِمَا يَقُولُ  فَقَدْ كَفَرَ بِمَا أُنْزِلَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ صلى الله عليه وسلم ))

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said

“The Messenger of Allah said: ‘Whoever has intercourse with a menstruating woman, or with a woman in her rear, or who goes to a fortuneteller and believes what he says, he has disbelieved in that which was revealed to Muhammad.'”
