  • 1738 ) عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ رَضي الله عنه  قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم (( لِكُلِّ غَادِرٍ لِوَاءٌ يَوْمَ القِيَامَةِ  يُرْفَعُ لَهُ بِقَدْرِ غَدْرِهِ  أَلَا وَلَا غَادِرَ أَعْظَمُ غَدْراً مِنْ أَمِيرِ عَامَّةٍ ))

( صحيح مسلم )

Abu Sa’id Al-Khudri (May Allah be pleased with him) said

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Every one who breaks a covenant will have a flag by his buttocks on the Day of Resurrection. It will be raised higher according to the nature of his breach. Behold, there will be no greater a sin with respect to breaking the covenant than that of a ruler who breaks his covenant with the Muslim masses.”

  • (1739) عَنْ جَابِرَ بن عَبْدِالله رضي الله عنهما قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم (( الحَرْبُ خُدْعَةٌ ))

Narrated Jabir bin `Abdullah

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “War is deceit

  • (1741)  عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال (( لا تَمَنَّوْا لِقَاءَ العَدُوِّ  فَإِذَا لَقَيْتُمُوهُمْ فَاصْبِرُوا ))

( صحيح مسلم )

Narrated Abu Huraira

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Do not wish to meet the enemy, but when you meet face) the enemy, be patient.”

( Sahih Muslim )

  • (1897)  عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ  عَنْ أَبِيهِ رضي الله عنه  قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم (( حُرْمَةُ نِسَاءِ المُجَاهِدِينَ  عَلَى القَاعِدِينَ  كَحُرْمَةِ أُمَّهَاتِهم ؛ وَمَا مِنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ القَاعِدِينَ يَخْلُفُ رَجَلاً مِنَ المُجَاهِدِينَ فِي أَهْلِهِ  فَيَخُونُهُ  فِيهِمْ ؛ إِلَّا وَقَفَ لَهُ يَوْمَ القِيَامَةِ  فَيَأْخُذُ مِنْ عَمَلِهِ مَا شَاءَ . فَمَا ظَنُّكُمْ  ؟ ))

( صحيح مسلم )

It has been narrated on the authority of Sulaimin b. Buraida who learnt the tradition from his father. The latter said that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said

The sanctity of the wives of Mujahids is like the sanctity of their mothers for those who sit at home (i. e do not go out for Jihad). Anyone who stays behind looking after the family of a Mujahid and betrays his trust will be made to stand on the Day of judgment before the Mujahid who will take away from his meritorious deeds whatever he likes. So what do you think (will he leave anything)?

  • (1909)  عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ حَنِيفٍ رضي الله عنه  أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم  قَالَ (( مَنْ سَأَلَ الله الشَّهَادَةَ بِصِدْقٍ ؛ بَلَّغَهُ الله مَنَازِلَ الشُّهَدَاءِ ؛ وَإِنْ مَاتَ عَلَى فِرَاشِهِ ))

( صحيح مسلم )

Sahl bin Hunaif (May Allah be pleased with him) reported

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, “He who supplicates Allah sincerely for martyrdom, Allah will elevate him to the station of the martyrs, even if he dies on his bed

  • (1910 ) عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رضي الله عنه قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم :  (( مَنْ مَاتَ وَلَمْ يَغْزُ ؛ وَلَمْ يُحَدِّثْ بِهِ نَفْسَهُ  ؛ مَاتَ عَلَى شُعْبَةٍ مِنْ نِفَاقٍ ))  . قَالَ عَبْدُاللهِ بْنُ المُبَارَكِ : فَنَرى أَنَّ ذَلِكَ كَانَ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ الله صلى  الله وسلم

( صحيح مسلم )

It has been narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said

One who died but did not fight in the way of Allah nor did he express any desire (or determination) for Jihad died the death of a hypocrite. ‘Abdullah b. Mubarak said: We think the hadith pertained to the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)
